Software Engineer, Controls, Tesla Bot

Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will design and implement control code for bipedal locomotion, object manipulation, and state estimation in Tesla's humanoid robots. Your work will improve the robot's behavior in real-world situations and reflect those capabilities in a simulation engine for fast iteration. You will be expected to maintain high-quality standards as your code will run in thousands of robots.

Requirements

• Experience in programming C/C++
• Practical experience with closed-loop control systems in embedded environments
• Solid background in linear systems analysis, stability, and controller design
• Familiarity with control of non-linear systems
• Capability of delivering high-quality code in an embedded environment.

Responsibilities

• Experience with state estimation through IMU, encoders, and force sensors
• Experience with bipedal robots or multi-DOF robotic hardware
• Experience with shipping control algorithms on real products at scale.
