Staff Systems Engineer, Tesla Bot Manufacturing

Job Description

Tesla is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to define manufacturing processes and advance equipment development for the Tesla Bot. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, accelerate assembly processes, and implement automation solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI robotics, ensuring successful product launches at high volume.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD tools (Catia and AutoCAD preferred)
• Proficiency in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, quality matrix, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience transitioning products from prototype to production
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands
• Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to take robot design from concept through prototype to production
• Provide manufacturing insights during product definition
• Drive the development of manufacturing lines
• Formulate assembly sequences and define quality parameters
• Lead internal/external equipment suppliers
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues
• Calculate equipment capacity and line balancing.
