Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Mechanical design engineer with precision machine design experience to join the team.

Requirements

• Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal forming and 3D printing
• Experience/knowledge in opto-mechanical systems, vacuum systems, design of inspection equipment or similar instruments, motion controls, electronics, tooling & test fixture design, supplier management, new product introduction, manufacturing support

Responsibilities

• CAD mechanical design using CREO, Solidworks
• Perform feasibility studies
• Managing large assemblies and system layout using reference geometry
• Drive conceptual and detailed design, using 3D solid modeling
• Assembly and part tolerancing including GD&T
• Drive Manufacturing process for releasing parts and assemblies
• Perform FEA analysis, error budgeting, and hand calculations
• Participate in and lead design reviews
• Build prototypes and validates designs
• Release designs to manufacturing
