HPC Storage Engineer (Linux)

Job Description

The job involves assisting in architectural design, deployment, and support of an HPC Cluster, from infancy to enterprise level.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (SuSE, RedHat, Rocky, Ubuntu)
• Implementation of parallel file systems (e.g. Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS)
• Strong understanding of HPC hardware including servers, GPUs, networking, storage, BIOS, and BMC
• Experience with System-D, Net boot/PXE, Linux HA
• Proficiency in TCP/IP fundamentals and protocols like DNS, DHCP, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP
• Ability to code and develop Shell and Python scripts
• Experience with Configuration Management utilities (Salt, Chef, Puppet etc)
• DevOps focus with knowledge of continuous development pipeline, Docker Containers, Jenkins, Git, etc

Responsibilities

• Design, implement & support high-performance compute clusters
• Identify hardware systems supporting different GPU cards
• Generate HW BOMs for HPC Clusters, manage vendors, and coordinate HW release activities
• Configure appropriate operating systems for HPC systems using Linux OS
• Understand project specifications and performance requirements at subsystem and system levels
• Support design and release of new products to manufacturing and customers
• Handle EOL Parts Re-Qualification for long-term system deployments
• Support critical in-house and in-field issues
• Adhere to project timelines for timely program completion
