Sr. Test and Validation Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Senior Test and Validation Engineer to work on charging and energy test team in Torrance, CA, focusing on testing current and next-generation charging systems.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience leading validation efforts in automotive or high-power product field
• Experience in test planning and execution from program inception to final validation signoff
• Skilled in hands-on hardware and software testing at a system level
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills
• Exposure to industry standards such as MIL-STD-50G, UL 2202, UL 50E
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, Linux, LabView

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the end-to-end validation plan of Rivian’s Charging & Energy products
• Work closely with software and hardware engineering teams to understand test requirements
• Design and modify test fixtures and instrumentation for charging equipment testing
• Provide direction to lab personnel in setting up and executing system tests
• Work with external lab partners to setup, execute, and monitor testing
• Support hands-on technical root cause analysis and issue resolution
• Lead tear-down analysis and post-processing of hardware at the end of the test
• Convey learnings to appropriate teams to feed back into requirements
