Sr. Supplier Development Engineer - Plant

Job Description

The role is responsible for ensuring the quality of Rivian's purchased supplier parts throughout the production process by conducting supplier audits, diagnosing defective materials, and managing corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field required
• 5+ years in engineering, manufacturing, or other related fields, experience in quality preferred
• Technical expertise in automotive manufacturing processes related to Stamping, Welding, Castings & overall BIW
• Knowledge of IATF16949:2016
• Working knowledge of Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment
• Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) & Statistical Process Control (SPC) & Control plans (CP)
• Strong knowledge of 8D problem solving methodology including Fishbone diagrams, 5 Why’s
• Must be able to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Review production lines ensuring proper use of the job element sheets
• Perform supplier quality investigation and process audits to lead supplier improvement
• Initiate and follow up on corrective actions and verify effectiveness on site
• Review and diagnose defective material rejected during the manufacturing process
• Identify and implement process improvements and integrate Rivian’s quality requirements
