Sr. Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Firmware Engineer to work on critical vehicle features and low-power operation for Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in firmware development
• Expert in C programming, familiar with C++, Python, and bash scripting
• Proficiency with real-time operating system platforms in safety-critical applications
• Hands-on experience debugging embedded systems with diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers

Responsibilities

• Architect critical vehicle features across low-level systems to user interfaces
• Lead design and implementation of firmware on embedded systems
• Define system-level power requirements and implement low-power modes
• Optimize firmware for low-power operation and extend battery life
• Develop HMI software features, including display functionality and infotainment content
• Collaborate with QA teams, implement CI/CD pipeline, and engage with third-party firms
