Senior Firmware Engineer, IOT and Connectivity

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Firmware Developer to work on critical hardware validation, wireless communications, and IoT-related features for their Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in firmware development focused on wireless communications
• Expertise in C programming, familiarity with C++, Python, and bash scripting
• Experience with wireless technologies such as BLE, LTE, GPS, NFC, UWB
• Proficiency with real-time operating system concepts, experience with Zephyr RTOS and/or FreeRTOS
• Knowledge of communication protocols, IoT data protocols, wireless regulatory compliance, and cloud APIs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for hardware validation, wireless bring-up, and IoT features
• Architect end-to-end IoT systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Implement robust security measures within firmware
• Optimize firmware for low-power operation and energy-efficient designs
• Profile power consumption and identify optimization opportunities
• Develop a CI/CD pipeline and advocate for best practices
• Collaborate with QA teams and third-party firms
