Exteriors, Sr. CAD Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a CAD based Mechanical Design Engineer to shape the physical design of electric vehicle systems.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience in parametric CAD in Exterior Automotive trim systems
• Experience with various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, compression molding, 2-shot molding, overholding
• Experience in design with Injected molding plastics A Class components and B side bracketry
• Experience in Castings, Extrusions, and forgings
• Applied experience in automotive design and development process
• Deep knowledge of materials used for different applications
• Expertise in Catia, Enovia, or similar tools
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Exterior Components
• Use first principle driven design direction
• Work with cross functional teams to develop high quality design
• Work with the studio team to provide feedback and generate high quality A-surfaces
• Come up with different CAD concepts for issues
• Mentor younger Design Engineers
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders
