DFM PCBA Engineer

Job Description

The job involves verifying technical capabilities of PCBA vendors, developing and maintaining PCBA DFM procedures, managing PCBA assembly processes, and supporting component engineering and ECAD librarians at Apple.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in microelectronics fabrication and PCBA assembly
• Bachelor's degree in engineering disciplines (mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical, or materials science)

Responsibilities

• Verification of Quick Turn PCBA Vendor Technical Capabilities
• Developing and Maintaining PCBA DFM Procedures and Checklists
• Developing Array Drawings for Product PCBAs
• Ensuring Proper Management of PCBA Prototype, EVT, and DVT Assembly and Test at Manufacturing Subcontractor
• Developing and Maintaining PCBA Process Parameters and Procedures as Guidelines for Apple Subcontractors
• Supporting Component Engineering by Ensuring Component Specification Content meets PCBA DFM Requirements
• Supporting ECAD Librarians by Ensuring Development of ECAD Library Parts which meet PCBA DFM Requirements
• Ensuring Proper Management of PCBA PVT Assembly and Test at Manufacturing Subcontractor
• Developing and Maintaining Data Requirements for PCBA PVT Assembly at Apple Subcontractors
• Verification of Volume PCB Vendor Technical and Quality Capabilities
• Ensuring Maintenance of Approved Manufacturing Processes at PCBA Manufacturing Subcontractor
• Ensuring Continued Use of Approved Materials at PCBA Manufacturing subcontractor
• Ensuring Maintenance of Specified Quality Levels at PCBA Manufacturing Subcontractor
• Supporting Ongoing Apple Service/Quality Issues as Resource for PCBA Manufacturing Issues
• Developing or managing the development of necessary tooling and/or automation equipment
• Developing and Maintaining Cable assembly processes using hot bar equipment
