Mechanical Design Engineer, Infrastructure Services

Job Description

Apple is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join the Data Center Engineering team responsible for evaluating new technologies of IT servers, Data Center Infrastructure devices, and systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with Mechanical 2D and/or 3D modeling tools
• 5+ years of experience in analysis methods such as CFD, FEA, stress, strain, vibration analysis, thermal, fluid flow, or failure analysis

Responsibilities

• Innovate and collaborate in designing or improving evaluation environments, test fixtures, and systems for new technologies
• Define and document project requirements, risks, effort, and schedule
• Drive transportation and vibration analysis
• Create or manipulate CAD 3D models for use with CFD, FEA, or other modeling and simulation tools
• Conduct design validation of devices or systems to requirements and analyze results across Apple development groups
• Support Data Center Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance/troubleshooting support, and procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues
