Site Reliability Engineer - Platform Cloud

Job Description

The Apple Service Engineering - Solr SRE team is looking for Site Reliability Engineers with experience in developing processes, tools, and automation for managing distributed systems in production environments.

Requirements

• Proficient in modern Java and optionally Python.
• Experience with at least one scalable search platform like Solr, Kafka, ElasticSearch, or OpenSearch.
• Strong production debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Deep understanding of the Linux operating system, including kernel, memory, process, threads.
• Experience with EC2, EBS, and Terraform.
• Experience running stateful services on Kubernetes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help build next-generation search infrastructure and platform services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various ASE teams.
• Create platforms that can rapidly scale to serve personalized and non-personalized data with very low latencies.
• Define metrics, set targets, uncover optimization opportunities, define quality guardrails, and ship a product/service that will delight customers.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of the organization through openness to learning and implementing new technologies.
