RF/mmW Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description

The RF/mmW Hardware Design Engineer will design, develop, and optimize radio frequency hardware circuits and systems for wireless communications devices operating at mmW frequencies.

Requirements

• BSEE and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong knowledge of RF systems principles, RF/mmW hardware design, digital communications, and phased array antenna fundamentals
• Experience with schematic, layout, and EM simulation flows with tools such as Capture, Allegro, HFSS, ADS
• Scripting experience in Python for test automation and post-processing
• Excellent written and verbal communication and consistent record of working as a great teammate

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop and integrate cellular radio platforms into Apple’s products
• Implement creative RF designs to realize wireless product requirements
• Contribute to RF/mmW module, board-level, and flex designs up through mmW operating frequencies
• Author schematics and drive layout optimizations for RF/mmW modules with extensive EM simulations
• Perform RF system lineup analyses to ensure system designs meet industry and internal standards
• Create and maintain RF/electrical specifications for RF components and drive component development
• Architect component-level and system-level characterization setups and drive characterization and debug activities in labs
• Travel internationally to support prototype hardware builds
