Product Design Engineer - Battery

Job Description

Join Apple's Battery Pack Product Design team to design and integrate battery packs into Apple products, optimizing across product development groups.

Requirements

• BS Design and 3D CAD experience
• Experience with multiple part assemblies including tolerance analysis, DOE’s, failure analysis, and design validation
• Experience in design cycle from concept through mass production

Responsibilities

• Design for stages from NPI through mass production
• Utilize creative problem solving to overcome technical challenges through spatial reasoning, design optimization, trade-off analysis, and attention to detail
• Apply engineering fundamentals to design analysis
• Realize designs through tolerance analysis, design for assembly/manufacturing, and cross functional collaboration
• Communicate designs through detailed, cross functional design reviews
• Drive failure analyses and design of experiments (DOEs) to develop design solutions and implement corrective actions
• Release drawings and maintain documentation through revision control
• Travel up to 20% throughout the year
