Senior Optical Engineer

Senior Optical Engineer position at Amazon involving designing innovative consumer products and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of experience in consumer electronics as an optical engineer working on display light engines and design, fabrication, characterization of diffractive optical elements
• 7+ years of experience in optical simulation, metrology, and testing to verify component, assembly and system level performance
• Experienced in at least one of the following modelling software packages: LightTools, Zemax, CODE V, FRED, TracePro, SPEOS, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop high level system architectures and define subsystem and component level requirements
• Develop, design, model, fabricate, and test optical components, diffractive elements, and imaging systems
• Provide rapid prototyping and characterization of optical systems
• Validate proposed optical architectures and drive performance advances
• Broaden and optimize design and manufacturing space with external partners
