Amazon is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team, where you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects impacting millions of people worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Strong knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to apply SQL to a wide variety of business requirements
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices
• Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc
• Strong knowledge in data warehousing concepts and data platforms and architecture

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for the team
• Lead complex technical initiatives within the team
• Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table
• Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture
• Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments
• Build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writing
• Continuously optimize solutions to improve overall platform performance, availability, and fault tolerance
• Drive Operational excellence through a metrics-driven approach
• Understand customer pain points, build solutions to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable by applications and teams
• Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity, deep technical understanding through collaboration, code reviews, and leading by example
