Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

Audible is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of systems and datasets in a start-up culture while accessing the tech-forward tools, training, and infrastructure of Amazon.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with one or more modern language (e.g., Java, C++, C#, Python)
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems
• Experience writing clear, maintainable and extensible code

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of systems and datasets applying best practices in data engineering ecosystem
• Peer review and mentor junior team members
• Analyze source systems, define data sources and transformation requirements, and design appropriate data models
• Utilize technology expertise to build systems aligned with business needs
• Implement systems and datasets using software engineering best practices
• Communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders, escalating and resolving technical and managerial issues
• Conduct peer reviews and mentor team members
