Job Description

The Data Center Chief Engineer position at Amazon Web Services involves managing and overseeing the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS, ensuring peak efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment
• 4+ years of Facilities Management Experience

Responsibilities

• Management and leadership of DCEO Engineering Team
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance
• Responsible for on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors
• Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems
• Data Center capacity planning and reporting
• Assist in the design and build out of new facilities
• Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects and manage capacity
• Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met
• Responsible for asset and inventory management
• Respond to out-of-hours emergency calls
• Training and development of Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs)
