Job Description

As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead and manage cross-functional projects to develop and deliver automation and material handling solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems
  • 4+ years of experience working with design and installation planning for complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and/or systems
  • 4+ years of product development experience with leadership in design and assembly reviews
  • 4+ years demonstrated experience working with Project management tools (PPM, Clarity, Microsoft Project or Jira)
  • 4+ years demonstrated experience working with 2D and 3D CAD/CAE modeling tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects independently
  • Participate in engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to set project priorities
  • Lead and coordinate execution efforts for systems and automated equipment designs
  • Lead effective meetings and document discussions and decisions
  • Communicate project status and risk analysis effectively
  • Articulate system and equipment designs to internal customers
  • Support change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
