Data Center Chief Engineer

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the continual access to innovation for customers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or degree in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical)
• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 3+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience

Responsibilities

• Act as primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshooting within SLAs
• Provide training, guidance, and set team culture for Engineering Operations Technicians
• Create and deploy new standard practices
• Assist in the build-out of new facilities and projects to increase efficiency
• Work outside normal business hours for routine maintenance as required
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audience
• Coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety and performance
• Ensure safety procedures are adhered to by vendors and Amazon staff
• Establish building performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other administrative tools for day-to-day tasks
