Security Engineer, AWS Vulnerability Management

Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for a Security Engineer to join the AWS Vulnerability Management (AVM) team, responsible for securing cloud services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related degree; or 4+ years equivalent technology experience
• 3 years experience in system, network, and/or application security
• 3 years experience in threat modeling and interpreting vulnerability disclosures
• 2 years experience building automated tools in C, C++, Java, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Ruby

Responsibilities

• Establishing a risk-based approach to vulnerabilities
• Standardizing workflows to streamline remediation efforts
• Providing guidance on compensating controls
• Collaborating with service teams to address security concerns and remove blockers
• Researching the potential impact of software vulnerabilities on AWS and customers
• Collaborating with AWS service teams and partners to remediate or mitigate risks
• Authoring risk assessment statements, remediation guidance, audit responses, and status reports
• Partnering with product teams across AWS to develop scalable security solutions
• Developing tooling to automate and refine vulnerability management processes
• Identifying and owning projects for proactive security improvements across AWS
• Periodic on-call responsibilities
