Security Engineer, AWS Cloud Response

Job Description

The AWS Cloud Response Team is responsible for managing the security and availability of AWS Cloud services by working tactically and strategically to solve security challenges at massive scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
• 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
• 3+ years of proven experience with a focus in areas such as digital forensics and incident response
• 3+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security
• Strong demonstrated knowledge of web protocols, common attacks, and an in-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture

Responsibilities

• Triage new incoming issues to determine the level of risk they present to AWS and prioritize remediation
• Communicate security issues to technical and non-technical audiences
• Promote security throughout the Company and build good working relationships
• Handle a mix of tasks including incident response activities and small-projects
• Escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary
