Language Engineer II, Amazon Search

Job Description

Amazon's Language Engineer role in the MIDAS team focuses on improving the search experience for Amazon customers through AI model training and data annotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or related field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Proficient in Python
• Knowledge of Regex, SQL, MS Excel, Git
• Ability to navigate a Unix terminal and use common command line tools
• Familiarity with annotation tools and workflows

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data annotation guidelines and workflows
• Manage and process large amounts of structured and unstructured data
• Design quality control metrics to evaluate data annotation quality
• Maximize productivity and quality through streamlined workflows and process standardization
• Collaborate with various teams to define metrics, guidelines, and workflows
• Initiate improvement projects and implement solutions
• Train junior data associates and prioritize work based on business needs
