Senior Systems Engineer/Architect, Amazon Robotics

Job Description

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Senior Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team that provides leadership for concept development, architecture, and design of robotics systems and industrial equipment.

Requirements

• Experience with eliciting and clarifying business and end user needs, and linking those needs to system concepts, requirements, and designs
• Experience leading technical collaborations and creating alignment across diverse groups
• BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM discipline
• 8+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Define, expand, and explore the design space for complex, multidisciplinary robotics and automation problems
• Identify and analyze the cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives
• Break down and frame problems using system representations to clarify needs and align technical teams
• Build quantitative models and analyses to conduct trade studies and refine requirements
• Perform technical risk assessments, devise mitigation plans, and create system test strategies
• Develop and communicate system integration and evaluation strategies and plans
• Drive and prioritize execution of system test campaigns
• Mentor junior engineers in engineering best practices and participate in hiring of new team members
