Job Description

The Network Development Engineer position at AWS Core Networking involves building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks to support AWS, customers, and other business units across multiple global data centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 4+ years’ experience with the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies
  • 3+ years’ experience with optical planning and modeling tools
  • 1+ year of professional development experience with Python or similar tool for network automation scripting

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality network and/or systems planning, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, optimization, internal/external customer interactions, and produce appropriate technical documentation
  • Create and implement changes on the network
  • Lead network projects in various areas such as network deployment, scaling, technology refresh, and best practices application
  • Support AWS next-generation networks for significant customers by providing critical network support to diagnose and resolve large-scale networking events
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues
  • Drive and support innovation in network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure smooth roll-out of new designs and products
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
  • Create and review documentation and processes regarding network implementation/deployments
