Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics WW Central Engineering engineering team. The individual will challenge current processes, equipment, procedures, and electrical/controls specifications in delivery stations to come up with process improvement initiatives focusing on AB PLC/HMI and vision systems development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or computer science, Engineering Technology, or related Engineering field
  • 3 years of experience in Electrical/Control systems in a relay/PLC based controls design, development, implementation
  • 2+ years' experience directly developing control strategies in CODESYS
  • Experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and development of industrial controls design and PLC programs for complex Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Participate in design reviews for complex control systems, simulations, algorithms and software development
  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve team's agility
  • Simultaneously manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing internal and external business partners
  • Develop and maintain controls software code/scripts for PLCs/HMI and vision systems
  • Develop, document and update design standards in conjunction with worldwide design teams
