Software Dev Engineer II, Transportation Volume Planning

Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Transportation Volume Planning team within the Fulfillment Optimization organization. The role involves developing large-scale, fault-tolerant software systems using mathematical modeling, ML, and simulations to optimize Amazon's logistics network and improve customer experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience in new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software language
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and containerization technologies on AWS

Responsibilities

• Build large-scale, highly distributed systems to solve complex logistics problems for Amazon's supply chain business
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Participate in the full software development life cycle including writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and deploying production-ready software
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across multiple systems
• Drive operations excellence by analyzing root causes and reducing operational load
