Electrical Design Engineer, Data Center Design Engineering

Job Description

Amazon Web Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their global engineering team responsible for the design and innovation of data center electrical distribution systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 10+ years of relevant electrical experience
• 5+ years of experience with industrial or commercial electrical design
• 7+ years of experience developing design documentation including 1-line diagrams for construction and permitting
• Strong knowledge of NEC, Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, and OSHA regulations
• Professional Engineering License (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design data center electrical systems and collaborate with other disciplines to create construction document sets
• Ensure designs meet quality and budgetary requirements
• Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and building codes
• Review and approve equipment submittals
• Provide technical support for information requests and project scope definition
• Support commissioning teams for testing and validation of electrical systems
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple regions
• Travel to sites for reviews, audits, and engineering evaluations
• Offer creative solutions and think outside the box
