Sr. Product Design Engineer, DCE - Electrical Solutions

Job Description

Amazon Web Services is hiring a Sr. Product Design engineer for the Electrical Solutions Product Engineering team responsible for the design and innovation of electrical distribution products and systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
• 8+ years of experience with leading new product design, development, product certification, and manufacturing support of Low Voltage (LV) distribution products for data center applications
• Experience with various electric codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL891, UL508, UL1066, UL1558, ANSI C37
• Demonstrated track record of design documentation creation, 3D modeling, and value engineering analysis
• Experience validating designs through prototype builds and testing
• Ability to interpret complex business cases and present justifications to management

Responsibilities

• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers
• Develop budgets considering development costs, prototyping, testing, and tooling requirements
• Collaborate with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment
• Ensure compliance with international electrical standards and building codes
• Validate designs through prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds
• Work with field engineering teams to test and validate product installations and performance
• Provide support for manufacturing activities on concurrent projects in multiple locations
