Systems Development Engineer, External Security Services - ADC

Job Description

The AWS Region Services team is hiring a Systems Development Engineer to support cloud security services for the U.S. Intelligence Community.

Requirements

• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Operate within the team of peer engineers with personal autonomy to solve complex systems engineering problems through innovative approaches
• Provide guidance on system architecture and recommend solutions in alignment with systems engineering best practices
• Calmly and quickly diagnose and fix critical system failures in high pressure situations to reduce Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR)
• Engineer Operational Improvements to reduce operational efforts to Keep the Lights On
• Troubleshoot unknown-unknown problems into known-known root causes using holistic knowledge of systems to break the problem down and isolate the cause(s); then drive them to resolution
