Sr. Colo Electrical Engineer, Colocation Regional Engineering (CRE)

Job Description

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline, or 10 years industry or military experience
• 6+ years of experience in Data Center or Carrier-class Telecommunications design, engineering, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) of data center critical environment infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities
• Review vendor critical infrastructure designs, perform risk analysis, and availability calculations
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for failures
• Own and lead the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions
• Interface with internal data center design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team to promote standards
• Initiate and lead engineering site audits within Amazon’s owned or colo data centers
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
