Launch Engineer - Launch Operations Software Team, Project Kuiper

Job Description

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network seeking a Launch Operations Systems Engineer to develop and maintain satellite processing software and code infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or comparable degree
• 3+ years of coding experience with a scripting language such as Python, C#, TypeScript, or similar
• Experience with AWS services and cloud development
• Proficiency of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional tests
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Passport
• Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain satellite processing software test procedures
• Develop and maintain code pipeline infrastructure
• Test satellite code ahead of release using hardware in the loop and other test assets
• Support manufacturing engineers by defining and executing test requirements
• Develop automated testing systems to increase satellite manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to triage and resolve operational issues
