Manufacturing Engineer - Space Hardware and Test, Project Kuiper

Job Description

Project Kuiper is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead Battery Pack production development for their satellite constellation project aiming to increase global broadband access.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2+ year experience with integrating, testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
• 2+ year experience with Computer Aided Design tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics
• Familiarity with Low-Rate Manufacturing Environments & New Product Introduction
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principles
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, DMAIC, or related technologies/processes
• Technical writing experience, including work instructions, standard operating procedures and/or test plans
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with the project management of technical projects

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain all manufacturing artifacts
• Become the subject matter expert in the build and test processes of manufacturing a battery pack
• Serve as the catalyst to un-block and improve production processes
• Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes
• Serve as primary technical interface to development team for Battery Pack assembly and test
• Own the capacity increase roadmap for production
