Electrical Engineer II - Embedded Linux Systems

Job Description

The Electrical Engineer II - Embedded Linux Systems will work on disruptive technologies and solutions in the electrical engineering field at Milwaukee Tool.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in a design related role
• Understanding of embedded systems, PCBA manufacturing, and power electronics
• Knowledge of software development tools and processes for embedded Linux applications
• Working knowledge of Linux shell commands and scripts
• Analog and digital system tradeoffs and design
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international)

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics for mid to high-level complexity projects
• Use laboratory equipment for experiments and simulations
• Create test plans for electronic components and assemblies
• Identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems in a high urgency environment
• Track projects and communicate status updates
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers
• Work with component suppliers and manufacturers for component selection
• Design and qualify new solutions to regulatory standards
