Job Description

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Safety Engineer II to define Product Safety Requirements and contribute to the development of new products in the Power Tools business unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or technical equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience handling regulatory and/or product safety activities, preferably associated with power tools, lithium-ion batteries, and/or consumer products
  • Understanding of safety and risk topics affecting Milwaukee power tool, battery, and outdoor power equipment products
  • Familiar with Hazard Based Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis techniques
  • Familiar with OSHA General Industry and Construction regulations
  • Verbal, written, and organizational skills essential to professional communication
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as necessary
  • High interest in Power Tools and tools of the trade

Responsibilities

  • Advise Project Leaders, Product Managers, Design Engineers, and Reliability Engineers on product safety requirements
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  • Evaluate information and develop opinions related to product safety
  • Conduct design and construction reviews
  • Review test results and provide feedback on operator's manuals and product markings
  • Support new safety engineers during their onboarding process
