Rivian is seeking a Staff Cost Engineer-Cost Engineering to play a pivotal role in analyzing costs associated with components across Rivian vehicles.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Finance
Minimum of 7+ years of related experience at an OEM, Tier 1 Manufacturer, Contract Manufacture, Consumer Electronics, or similar
Proven experience in assembly processes required for cost model development including assembly of both metal and plastic components
Proficiency in navigating CAD models in CATIA or similar software
Practical knowledge of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) techniques and a strong understanding of financial principles
Responsibilities
Provide guidance to design requirements for new or modified designs to achieve target cost
Develop cost models and projections for multiple vehicle commodities
Create assembly line layouts and estimate production costs
Interface with manufacturing plants and suppliers to ensure economical tooling and operations
Support Rivian Procurement in cost reduction opportunities and mentor team members
Perform Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) activities for cost reduction ideas
Manage projects, plan milestones, and update cross-functional teams on project status
