Service Parts Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Service Part Quality Engineer at Rivian will work on ensuring part quality in the incoming receiving and shipping areas with a focus on quality, procedures, and material control requirements.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or other relevant experience preferred
• 1-3 years of quality related experience or relevant logistics/manufacturing quality experience
• Background in identifying technical and hardware quality issues and providing engineering insight on requirements and potential corrective actions
• Audit and understanding of supplier proposed containments with ability to question proposals
• Knowledge of automotive quality processes and problem-solving methods
• Strong self-starter and works well being proactive
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic team environment
• Ability to drive and program manage outside entities to support what's best for Rivian and its customers
• Planning and prioritizing activities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Listening skills

Responsibilities

• Implement containment actions and start the initial problem-solving process for supplier quality issues
• Hold suppliers accountable for completing root cause and preventative actions for containments
• Act as onsite liaison for part quality issues, supplier visits, and rework requirements
• Work with process partners to provide fast response and corrective actions
• Ensure proper communication of issues with PDC teams and work with them in problem-solving
• Attend various meetings and communicate the status of supplier issues
• Advise material planning of high quantity of quality impact
• Ensure key metrics are met and report on achievement of targets as related to the PDC and service part quality requirements
