Sr. Series Engineer, Battery Systems

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Series Engineer - HV Battery to design HV Battery Packs used in electric vehicles at their manufacturing facility in Normal, IL.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience or master’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience
• Experience with HV Battery design including structural, thermal, and electrical components
• Proficiency with statistics and data analysis
• Strong collaboration skills with Tier 1 Suppliers, Design, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Quality Engineers
• Experience with release engineering including CAD design, GD&T, and PLM interface
• Familiarity with modeling/analysis tools for structural and thermal analysis
• Understanding of safety protocols for battery modules

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify issues, drive resolution, and implement changes
• Optimize Battery Pack, subassembly, and components to impact cost and mass
• Lead BOM Management, Change Management, DFMEA efforts, and support PFMEA efforts
• Prepare rework plans and quality requirements for rework
• Define validation requirements based on design or process change
• Lead supplier engagement activities and manage part qualifications
