Senior Optical Engineer

Job Description

KLA is looking for a motivated Optical Engineer to design, develop, build, and qualify various optical subsystems for inspection tools, as well as lead the design of custom metrology systems.

Requirements

• Masters or PhD in Optical engineering or Physics
• 3-5 years of professional experience in high-end optical system development
• Experience in high precision optical tools' manufacturing is a bonus
• Proficiency in optical modeling software such as Code V, Zemax, or LightTools
• Strong understanding in optics and physics
• Ability to learn and apply new information or skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build, and qualify various optical subsystems for inspection tools
• Lead the design of a custom metrology system to verify and adjust the optical performance
• Investigate different design options and evaluate tolerances, manufacturability, light budgets, and other trade-offs
• Translate system or subsystem requirements into optical design and manufacturing requirements
• Design and implement optical alignment and metrology processes
• Debug and solve any optical problems that arise with the system
