Job Description

The Amazon Payments Team is seeking a Data Engineer to work in a fast-paced environment using e-commerce data to provide superior value to customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
  • Exposure to large databases, BI applications, data quality, and performance tuning

Responsibilities

  • Work in a large and complex data warehouse environment
  • Passionate about working with huge data sets and bringing datasets together to answer business questions
  • Build data analytical solutions to address complex business questions
  • Implement and operate stable, scalable data flow solutions
  • Develop solutions that handle challenges of space, size, and speed
  • Implement data analytics using cutting-edge technologies like Spark, Redshift, and AWS services
  • Extract and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources
  • Write scalable code and tune performance for large data sets
  • Implement data flow solutions for data processing and storage
  • Own tasks, drive them to completion, and work with business owners to develop key business questions
