Job Description

The Amazon Payments Team is seeking a Data Engineer to work in a fast-paced environment using e-commerce data to provide superior value to customers.

3+ years of data engineering experience
Experience with SQL
Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
Exposure to large databases, BI applications, data quality, and performance tuning

Work in a large and complex data warehouse environment
Passionate about working with huge data sets and bringing datasets together to answer business questions
Build data analytical solutions to address complex business questions
Implement and operate stable, scalable data flow solutions
Develop solutions that handle challenges of space, size, and speed
Implement data analytics using cutting-edge technologies like Spark, Redshift, and AWS services
Extract and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources
Write scalable code and tune performance for large data sets
Implement data flow solutions for data processing and storage
Own tasks, drive them to completion, and work with business owners to develop key business questions
