Security Engineer I, Security Incident Response Team (SIRT)

Job Description

Amazon is seeking a qualified Security Engineer to join their innovative Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) to respond to security events, conduct threat analysis, and provide security services to safeguard sensitive data.

Requirements

• Experience scripting with Python, Perl, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with security monitoring, log analysis, and forensic tools
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 1+ years’ experience (OR 3+ years without degree) as part of a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) or Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT)

Responsibilities

• Responding to security incidents and coordinating a cohesive response across multiple teams
• Providing security engineering solutions and support during customer-facing incidents
• Assisting in the development of pragmatic solutions to achieve business requirements while maintaining an acceptable level of risk
• Identifying and recommending solutions to improve or expand Amazon’s incident response capabilities
• Working alongside and mentoring Information Security engineers to improve security
• Evaluating the impact of current security trends and coordinating response across affected teams
• Keeping knowledge and skills current with the changing threat landscape
• Participating in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation
