Job Description

OpsTech IT Wireless Engineering is responsible for developing software-defined, automated, and scalable Wireless network infrastructure products to enhance the reliability of Amazon's wireless services globally.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience
  • 5+ years practical relevant experience
  • Deep understanding of IP network fundamentals and packet capture analysis
  • Experience in Wifi or other managed RF networks operations and engineering
  • Analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions to enhance the availability of wireless network technologies
  • Partnering with peer teams to understand customer problems and find technological solutions
  • Defining and metering the availability of network solutions
  • Identifying and delivering solutions to reduce operational impact and enable scalable services
  • Diving deep into complex problems to identify root causes and provide corrective actions
  • Evaluating new technologies, conducting lab testing, proof of concept, and pilot deployment
  • Innovating and automating infrastructure testing, deployment, and operations
  • Defining strategies for future team processes and tools
  • Contributing to hiring and developing talent
  • Creating and updating wireless network designs for improved reliability
  • Mitigating and solving network availability risks
  • Participating in an on-call rotation
  • Implementing metrics to measure wireless availability and identify performance risks
