Senior System Development Engineer, Amazon LastMile Transportation

Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior System Development Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics WW Central Engineering engineering team with a focus on industrial control panels and electrical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or computer science, Engineering Technology, or other related Engineering
• 7 years of experience in Electrical/Control systems in a IPC/PLC based controls design, development, implementation in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production/manufacturing environment
• 1+ year experience in CODESYS
• Experience with Functional Safety standards (IEC 62061, IEC 13849, or IEC 61508)
• Excellent understanding of applicable regional electrical code and standards (NEC, CEC, ETCI, NFPA, UL508A, IEC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of industrial controls panels and control programs for complex Material Handling Equipment (MHE) for the Amazon Logistics North America network
• Participate in design reviews for complex electrical and control systems, simulations, algorithms and software development
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve team's agility
• Simultaneously manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external partners
• Develop, document and update design standards in conjunction with worldwide design teams
