Job Description

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire a Research Scientist specializing in the design of microwave components for cryogenic environments.

Requirements

MS in electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics with 4+ years of relevant experience
Knowledgeable in the design of passive microwave components and systems
Understanding of the design of electronics for cryogenic environments
Ability to manage the complete product life-cycle development, from requirements generation to on-time delivery
Proficient in the use of microwave and mechanical CAD software, including HPADS, HFSS, MWO, Altium, COMSOL, and SOLIDWORKS
Familiarity with design for manufacturability, including familiarity with machining tolerances, materials, and capabilities
Proficient in the operation of microwave test equipment and automated test development

Responsibilities

Collaborate across diverse teams and projects to offer state-of-the-art, cost-effective solutions for the signal conditioning of AWS quantum processor systems at cryogenic temperatures
Solve technical problems across the cryogenic signal chain
Develop requirements with key system stakeholders
Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative solutions
Research enabling technologies necessary for AWS to produce commercially viable quantum computers
