Job Description

EC2 Gateway Networking team at Amazon Web Services is seeking a System Engineer with a strong background in open source development to automate fleet lifecycle management and drive technology advancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
• Deep understanding of computing systems, software architecture, and data structures
• Experience building scalable systems with service oriented architectures
• Experience with Unix or Linux troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Automating fleet lifecycle management
• Making intelligent decisions based on metrics
• Providing insight into conditions at scale
• Mentoring new team members
• Solving difficult technical problems
• Performing root cause analysis on network appliances
• Reviewing code and contributing to tooling
• Providing project updates and estimates
• Participating in on-call responsibilities
