Job Description

As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will be responsible for implementing technical solutions, providing support for computer hardware and software, and ensuring infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional environment
  • Fluent in Cisco/networking and either Linux and/or Microsoft
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting experience in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 2+ years of experience with networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
  • 1+ years of IT experience with client, server, and network service delivery
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or IT related field (preferred)
  • Industry relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS (preferred)
  • Data center infrastructure and facilities experience (preferred)
  • Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
  • Ability to manage high priority projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision

Responsibilities

  • Network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration
  • Ensuring infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours
  • Providing analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions
  • Managing local technical projects
  • Maintaining or creating policies, procedures, and processes
  • Identifying root-causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies
  • Supporting customers from multiple buildings in the area and remote customers
  • Traveling within the local or regional area to support customers
