Network Development Engineer II - AWS, Backbone Topology Engineering

Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a Network Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering team. The role involves designing, implementing, and supporting networking infrastructure to ensure global connectivity for AWS customers.

Requirements

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years experience in network-focused hands-on technical role with IP routing protocols/technologies in large-scale data center and/or WAN network environments
• 4+ years experience in capacity planning and topology design for large-scale IP networks
• 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture
• Experience with routers, server load balancers, and firewall vendor platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of networking and/or systems technologies
• Scripting skills for automation using Python, Perl, or Shell

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, and best practices application
• Lead network projects in areas like deployment, scaling, technology refresh, and optimization
• Sustain AWS networks for significant customers by providing critical network support
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, and configurations issues
• Drive innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance
• Collaborate with engineering teams for fast roll-out of new designs and products
