Mechanical Design Engineer, Data Center Design Engineering

Job Description

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is looking for talented individuals to join their diverse team of engineers and specialists. The team is responsible for designing and maintaining the global AWS infrastructure to ensure continuous access to innovation for customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or 6+ years of relevant industry experience
• Cumulative 2+ year of experience with industrial or commercial mechanical HVAC design
• Experience developing design documentation for construction and/or permitting

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to understand user requirements
• Data center mechanical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create a construction document set
• Creation of designs meeting quality and budgetary requirements
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify appropriate mechanical equipment
• Work with utilities and local agencies for compliance with requirements and building codes
• Review and approval of equipment submittals
• Define project scopes and provide technical support during construction phases
• Work with commissioning teams to validate installation and performance of mechanical systems
• Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
• Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers
