Thermal Design Engineer, Project Kuiper (Satellites)

Job Description

Project Kuiper is seeking a Thermal Design Engineer to work on the thermal design solutions for all components in Kuiper's satellites and customer terminals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with thermal analysis software
• Experience with test planning and system verification
• Experience in development of thermal control hardware and materials
• Experience with thermal simulation software and programming

Responsibilities

• Support extensive architectural trades with preliminary thermal analysis on spacecraft and subsystems
• Perform detailed analysis of Bus and Payload subsystems, components, and mechanisms
• Develop automated scripts for rapid analysis updates
• Design, analyze, and select heat pipes for components
• Define and execute test setups for thermal cycling and TVAC tests
• Document trades and design evolution for design reviews
• Support thermal design for terrestrial equipment and systems
