Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer – Castings Technical Advisor role at Troy, MI with Cummins, focusing on optimizing CDBS supply base to meet technical specifications, cost, and quality requirements.

Requirements

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical subject
• Preferably 10 years experience in Manufacturing or Engineering role in automotive industry
• Combined minimum 10 years of experience in Metallurgical/Materials Science and Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing Management within a Casting foundry environment
• Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in a technical area preferable

Responsibilities

• Build Strong Relationships with critical partners including external suppliers, external customers, and internal stakeholders
• Coach and Mentor Cummins professionals on soft skills
• Utilize manufacturing knowledge to partner with cross-functional teams in developing supply base strategies
• Collaborate with Engineering on optimized product designs
• Lead Continuous Improvement and high-impact projects
• Drive High-Impact Initiatives within the external supply base
• Develop Team Capability of the global Supplier Quality Engineer team
